The Security and Defence Academy of the Ministry of Defence and the Police Academy "Alexandru loan Cuza" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania organize the seminar on Strategic Communication in the Context of Security and Defence "Strategic Communication in the Context of Security and Defence", under the auspices of the European College of Security and Defence.
The seminar will be held in Larnaca, from 21 to 24 November 2023, with the support of the Embassy of Romania in Cyprus and the European Commission, in the framework of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) initiative.
The seminar will examine ways to address a number of crises at the civil-military level, in the context of the European Union's (EU) Global Strategy for Foreign and Political Security. It will highlight the role of strategic communication in a rapidly changing landscape, shaped by intensive digitalisation, the emergence of innovative technologies and the proliferation of online misinformation.

The seminar will be attended by 39 participants from 11 countries (Armenia, Georgia, Cyprus, Romania, Romania, Ukraine, Moldova, Greece, Spain, Poland, Lithuania and Belgium).

On the side of the Republic of Cyprus, personnel from the Ministry of Defence, the National Guard and the Cyprus Police will participate.
The closing ceremony will be addressed by the Ambassador of Romania to Cyprus. Participants who successfully complete the seminar will be awarded certificates of attendance signed by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Mr. Josep Borrell.
