The total of 40 participants in the seminar come from 10 countries (Cyprus, Romania, Portugal, Poland, France, Malta, Spain, Greece, Belgium and Italy). On the side of the Republic of Cyprus, personnel from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence are participating. The seminar is open to both civilian and military personnel from EU Member States, institutions and organisations.

The opening ceremony was addressed today by the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Ms Marilena Raouna, the Director General of the Deputy Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Mr. Stelios Chimonas and the Ambassador of France to Cyprus Ms. Salina Grenet-Catalano, in the presence of the Ambassadors of Greece, Egypt, the Netherlands and other diplomats accredited to the Republic of Cyprus.
