The Cyprus Ports Authority announces the second edition of the report on the quarterly activities of its Board of Directors, which covers the period 28 October 2021 to 27 January 2022. As announced in the previous quarter, the report sets out the actions and activities of the Cyprus Ports Authority, in the context of the new image that the Board of Directors of the Authority wants to present on the basis of its extroversion, transparency and public accountability.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Ports Authority, Dr. Antonis St. Stylianou said on the occasion of the publication of the second quarterly activity report of the Cyprus Ports Authority: "This summary Report includes additional information, compared to its first edition, concerning individual areas of the Port Authority of Cyprus' competence. It is our aim through future editions of our report to focus on all areas of the Authority's activities, presenting the important work they produce and their contribution to the work and activities carried out by the Cyprus Port Authority, especially on the basis of its new, upgraded role." In particular, he referred to important decisions that have been taken for the period under review, stressing that "in the current period of the Cyprus Ports Authority's activities, the Board of Directors of the Authority has taken important decisions concerning specific investments and acts of implementation of its decisions, whether these relate to the expansion of the Port of Latchi, or the creation of an anchorage in the area of Vasilikos. We will come back to this at a later stage with the presentation of these studies. In addition, we have continued our administrative work on a wide range of issues brought before the Board of Directors and we are implementing the role that the Law provides for our work".

The new Board of Directors of the Cyprus Ports Authority, having already passed the first six months of its installation, has proceeded rapidly in implementing the objectives it has set since its installation and in full and close cooperation with the management of the Cyprus Ports Authority, continues its work for the benefit of the Authority and with the principles of openness, transparency and fairness as the basic parameters of its actions. At the same time, the completion of the process of filling the position of Director General, which has been vacant for a long time, is a new page in the historical development of the Cyprus Ports Authority. In the next period of time, the Cyprus Ports Authority will proceed with the completion of its leadership pyramid in relation to the now vacant position of the Chief Financial Officer.

The hundreds of decisions of the Board of Directors are fully justified and are the result of long discussions, consideration of all the facts before the Board of Directors and consultation. The tireless efforts of the Members of the Board of Directors and the officials of the Cyprus Port Authority are taken into account in relation to the results that are summarized in this summary quarterly report.

The challenges and prospects of the Cyprus Port Authority remain substantial and it is precisely with this importance that they are handled by the Board and the Management of the Authority. Without any limitations or scruples, the Cyprus Port Authority proceeds to fully utilize all its resources and to fully assume its new, upgraded role as a supervisory and regulatory authority but also as an Organization with significant operational activities.
