In the framework of a memorandum of cooperation between the Road Safety Council and the Institute of Road Safety (IOAS) "Panos Mylonas", the President of the Board of Directors of the Institute, Ms Vasiliki Danellis-Mylonas, presented on 28 November 2023 to the Road Safety Council the work of the Institute and its recent actions.
Ms. Mylonas referred, among others, to the Institute's recent actions including:
- educational programmes and competitions for schoolchildren,
- educational programmes for students, teachers, minor traffic code violators and their families, executives of private companies, soldiers and adults,
- training programmes on health and safety at work,
- special programmes for vulnerable groups and
- special workshops on road behaviour aimed at promoting road safety education, using new technology simulators and interactive methods.
He also referred to surveys carried out by the Institute on road behaviour, giving the findings of a survey on two-wheelers in Greece and Cyprus.
As areas of cooperation with the Road Safety Council, road safety education for pre-primary and primary school children, as well as education for vulnerable users, together with relevant information on e-scooters, were agreed upon.
