The Ministry of Health informs citizens that from 17 January 2022, the release of COVID-19 positive individuals will be automatic after ten days of self-limitation from the date of sampling of the first positive result, with day zero being the date of sampling of the first positive result. It should be noted that the date of onset of symptoms will not be taken into account and the release procedure will be carried out without the involvement of the Personal Physicians.
Persons found positive to the virus should continue to inform the Personal Physicians of their positive result, so that their health can be monitored and sick leave issued where necessary.
In cases where the Personal Physician considers that self-limitation of the case should be continued due to persistence of symptoms (fever and no improvement in other symptoms two days before release) or in the case of immunosuppressed patients, the self-limitation period may be extended.
Citizens will be automatically informed on their mobile phone by SMS the night before their release date.
Personal physicians have been informed about the above procedure through OAI and PIS.
As a reminder, citizens detected positive for the virus will now be required to fill in their details on the online platform, regardless of whether they have close contacts to declare, so that they can be automatically released after the 10 days of self-limitation.
