Based on the results of the Travelers Survey conducted by the Statistical Office, tourism revenues in June 2023 amounted to €361.5 million compared to €292.7 million.
For the period January - June 2023, tourism revenues are estimated at €1,090.1 million, compared to €835.7 million in the corresponding period of 2022, an increase of 30.4%.

Expenditure analysis
The per capita expenditure of tourists in June 2023 amounts to €791.03 compared to €786.03 in June 2022, an increase of 0.6%.
British tourists (the largest tourist market with 34.8% of all tourists in June 2023) spent an average of €96.13 per day, while Israeli tourists (the second largest tourist market in that month with 10.2% of the total) spent an average of €124.72. Tourists from Poland (the third largest market with 6.6%) spent €77.12 per day.

Methodological Information
Definitions
Tourists - Visitors who stay at least one night in Cyprus.
Tourist arrivals - The term refers to the number of visits and not to the number of persons. This differs in the sense that a person may make more than one visit in the given reference period.
Tourism receipts - Refers to the receipts from tourists during their trip to Cyprus.
Data Source and Coverage
The data on tourist expenditure are derived from the Travelers' Survey which is conducted at the departure lounges of Larnaca and Paphos airports. The data is collected through personal interviews using an electronic questionnaire (CAPI - Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing method).
The data refers to the areas controlled by the State. They do not include travellers arriving and departing illegally through ports and airports in the occupied area of Cyprus.
