On January 16, 2024, the First Task of the National Phase of the European Statistics Competition was held at the University of Cyprus. 154 teams from all over Cyprus consisting of 449 high school students took part.
The co-organizers of the competition (Statistical Service, Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, University of Cyprus and Cyprus Statistical Society) would like to express their thanks to all the teams for their participation, as well as for their efforts.
The First Task included three tests as follows. A test of basic knowledge of statistics

c. Test on the interpretation of statistical reports
The top 11 teams (due to a double tie for 10th place) with the highest scores in the middle school category and the top 10 teams in the high school category qualify for the Second Task, which involves the preparation of a presentation on statistical data analysis.
