During today's (23.08.24) regular briefing of the international media at the United Nations (UN), the Spokesperson of the UN Secretary General (SG), Mr. Stéphane Dujarric, responding to a question from Cypriots regarding yesterday's statements by Ersin Tatar about a phone call from the UN Secretary General's office about a possible meeting with the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Christodoulides, in the context of the UN General Assembly in September, said that the UN Secretary General is considering an invitation to a joint meeting to discuss the next steps in the Cyprus problem, but no invitations have been sent.
