During the regular briefing of the UN international media (06.06.24), the Representative of the Secretary-General Mr. Stéphane Dujarric was asked by OMEGA correspondent Mr. Michael Ignatiou, if he had anything to inform journalists about the meetings the UN Secretary General had yesterday with the Foreign Minister of Greece and his Personal Envoy for Cyprus, Ms. Holguin.
Mr. Dujarric stated that the Secretary General had indeed met with Ms. Holguin earlier this week.
Mr. Dujarric stated that the Secretary General had indeed met with Ms. Holguin earlier this week. She is continuing to work with the parties and other relevant stakeholders to seek common ground. She added that she would remain in New York for a while, and in her meeting with Mr. Guterres discussed the way forward. Regarding his meeting with the Foreign Minister of Greece, he noted that he has no official announcement, but he has no doubt that they discussed the Cyprus issue, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest.
