[PIO] Recruitment of Contracted Soldiers (SYOP) in the National Guard

The Ministry of Defence is interested in recruiting soldiers on contract in the National Guard, to fill the vacant or vacant positions from the total number of Contracted Soldiers (SY.OΠ.) and invites persons who possess the required qualifications, as specified in the relevant notice, to apply for recruitment.

Applications shall be submitted only electronically through the Government Portal, from Friday, 1 September 2023 at 14:00 until Friday, 22 September 2023 at 14:00.

For further information, questions, assistance in completing the application or in cases of error or failure to submit the required documents, interested parties may consult the electronic submission instructions for SYO recruitment application below or contact the Military and Civilian Service Centre of the Ministry of Defence, daily from 08:00 to 15:00, on working days, at the contact telephone number 1430 or at the following e-mail address: syop@mod.gov.cy .

At the end of the application period, candidates will be subjected to an Athletic Test to determine their physical fitness and a Military Test to determine their combat ability. These tests are expected to take place during the month of September and the candidates will be invited by email and SMS.

It should be noted that candidates who are National Guardsmen but have not yet fulfilled their service obligation in the Force and have secured an appropriate order of success from the previous Final List, published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 28.04.2023, which is still in force, they will be offered recruitment when they have fulfilled all the required conditions as per the provisions of Section (6)(3) of the National Guard Laws of 2011 to 2022. That is, their offer of employment will be valid provided that they have fulfilled their regular military service.
