[PIO] Recall of food contact materials/objects from the Cypriot market

The Ministry of Health informs consumers that the Health Service of the Ministry of Health, as part of the official controls carried out in the Cypriot market, has taken samples of the following product (materials/objects in contact with food) which, following laboratory tests by the accredited laboratories of the General State Laboratory, has been found not to comply with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 of 14 January 2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs, as regards Primary Aromatic Amines (PAHs), as it did not meet the requirement that they must not migrate or be released in any way from plastic materials and articles into foodstuffs.

The Health Department of the Ministry of Health has already informed the food company marketing the product in question. Instructions have also been given for the immediate recall/withdrawal of all packaging of this batch.

However, as a quantity of this product is already in the possession of consumers, they are advised to avoid using it and, if they wish, to return it to the premises from which they purchased it.
