[PIO] Question on Cyprus during the regular UN media briefing yesterday

During yesterday's regular briefing of the international media of the United Nations (UN), the Representative of the Secretary-General, Mr. Stéphane Dujarric, stated that the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SG) in Cyprus and Head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), Mr. Colin Stewart briefed the Security Council in closed consultations.

Asked by OMEGA correspondent Michael Ignatiou if he was aware of the plan of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General, Ms. MaríaAngelaHolguínCuéllar, namely when she will go to Cyprus and whether she intends to visit other cities, the Spokesperson noted: "As far as I know, she will go to Cyprus probably in the next few weeks. I don't have her detailed agenda, but it seems that she's thrashed around in various capitals that affect the situation."
