The aeronautical exercise "EVNOMIA 4-2023", which took place from 11 to 14 September 2023, has been successfully completed. During the exercise, maritime interdiction, search and rescue, cyber warfare and the tactical part of civilian evacuation operations were tested.
During the exercise, which took place in the maritime space west and south of Cyprus, forces from the National Guard, the Greek, Italian and French Armed Forces participated.
The purpose of the activities of the Quadrilateral Initiative is to maintain and improve interoperability and cooperation between the Naval Forces of the four countries and to strengthen the joint naval and air presence in the Eastern Mediterranean area, for the implementation of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the customary international law for enhancing security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
