[PIO] Provision of scholarships from the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry for undergraduate and postgraduate courses starting in the academic

The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry announces that from today, Friday 25 August 2023 until Friday 22 September 2023, it is accepting applications for a number of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships, Master's and PhD level, for studies beginning in the academic year 2023-2024 in disciplines related to Hydrocarbons, Renewable Energy and Energy Transition.

The scholarship from the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry will be valid only for the academic year 2023-2024. As for the remaining years of the candidate's studies, these will be covered by the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry provided that funds are available and based on the ranking order already secured by the candidate in the academic year 2023-2024.

The maximum amount for each scholarship is €20,000 per year and will cover tuition fees and an amount for a monthly maintenance allowance. The scholarships will cover only the required study time as specified in the curriculum description and not any delays or retakes due to unsatisfactory student performance.

Relevant fields of study for undergraduate programmes are defined as disciplines in Petroleum/Hydrocarbon Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Oil and Gas Management, Renewable Energy Sources and more generally Energy Transition.

Relevant fields of study for Master's and Doctoral level postgraduate programmes are defined as any field of study relevant to Hydrocarbons, Renewable Energy and Energy Transition.

The selection criteria for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are academic, with an 80% weighting, and socio-economic, with a 20% weighting, and the prerequisite is to secure an unconditional admission place.

The last day for submission of applications is Friday 22 September 2023.

The general terms and conditions, as well as the evaluation criteria are contained in a notice, which, together with the application form to be completed by interested parties, are published on website of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry
