The Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organisation (CAP) announces that the payments of the Beekeeping Programme for the year 2023, totalling €336,457.07, have been completed.
The Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union is implemented in Cyprus through the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Strategic Plan 2023-2027, which has been prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment and approved by the European Commission. The implementation of the Strategic Plan started gradually from 1 January 2023, through the calls for individual interventions, including the Beekeeping Interventions of the Beekeeping Programme.
With the financial support of beekeepers, the Beekeeping Programme contributes decisively to the reconstruction of the Cypriot beekeeping sector and to the improvement of the competitiveness and quality of Cypriot honey.
The Programme includes five Beekeeping Interventions and nine actions as described in the table below, with the respective subsidy amounts.

The Agency notes that the foreseeable amounts corresponding to the Beekeeping Interventions/Actions not implemented (with zero subsidy amount) or other foreseeable amounts remaining from other Actions have been transferred to FP2 - Action B1: Rational use of licensed medicines for varroasis control. Therefore, with the payment of €336,457.07 to the beneficiaries, almost 100% of the available funds have been disbursed. The Programme was 50% financed by Community funds.
