The Parliamentary Committee on Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons and Victims met today, Tuesday, 8 February 2022, and discussed the following issues:
1. The abolition of the collective cultivation of Turkish Cypriot land granted by the Custodian to eligible refugees in Larnaca, Aradippou and Kosi, and the revision of this decision.

The Commission was informed by the Director of Turkish Cypriot Property Management about the decision of the Council of Ministers to write off for the years 2020 and 2021 the debts of beneficiaries who held Turkish Cypriot or Chaldean land for agricultural purposes.
2. The procedure for the disposal of the returned plots of land in self-housing settlements

The Committee was informed by the Director of Turkish Cypriot Property Management about the Government's Self-Housing Land Concession Plan, which refers to the number of vacant plots, as well as the number of plots that have been granted and on which construction of housing has not started.
