The Parliamentary Committee on Education and Culture met today, Wednesday, 2 February 2022, and discussed the following issues:
1. The University of Cyprus Budget Law of 2022

The Committee began discussion of the above bill, the purpose of which is to approve by law the budget of the University of Cyprus for the year 2022, which is balanced and provides for expenditures of €163,640,000 and revenues of the same amount.

2. The Budget of the Cyprus University of Technology 2022 Law of 2021
(File No. 23.01.062.226-2021)
The Committee began discussion of the above bill, the purpose of which is to legally approve the budget of the Cyprus University of Technology for the year 2022, which is balanced and provides for expenditure of €73,937,954 and income of the same amount.
During the discussion, the representatives of the University explained the provisions of the budget submitted for approval, highlighting the work and objectives of the University for its further development, while the Committee asked questions and requested the representatives of the academic institution to send information.
The examination of the issue will continue at the next meeting of the Committee.
3. The Open University of Cyprus Budget Law of 2022
(Ref. 23.01.063.012-2022)
The Committee, having concluded its discussion of the above bill, the purpose of which is to legally approve the budget of the Open University of Cyprus for the year 2022, which is balanced and provides for expenditure of €13.510.000 and revenues of the same amount, decided to forward the bill to the plenary session for a vote.
