The Cyprus Ports Authority was summoned on 14 February 2022 before the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives, as part of the Committee's examination of the Authority's budget. The Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Antonis St. Stylianou and the Director General of the Authority Mr. Anthimos Christodoulides presented the submitted budget to the Committee and answered questions from the Honourable Members of Parliament.

According to the Cyprus Ports Authority (CPA), the Authority's Budget has been prepared under the adverse conditions of the coronavirus pandemic, but also in light of the fact that the future revenues of the CPA are shrinking due to the imminent commercialisation of the port of Larnaca. Irrespective of the above, however, the necessary steps have been taken in order to find such savings and to achieve an increase in revenue from the optimisation of the management of ALC's resources, so that ALC's development plan will not be adversely affected. The decrease due to the above is offset by the increased revenues expected by ALC in the context of its participation in projects co-financed by European Funds (such as the Recovery and Resilience Funds and the Cross-border Cooperation Fund). More specifically, ALK participates in the projects of the above funds and expects to recover costs of €2.1 million within 2022, while the total benefit to ALK within the three-year period 2022 - 2024 is expected to amount to €3.7 million.

It is highlighted that the ALC Budget for 2022 is slightly in surplus, with budgeted revenue of €30,460,125 and budgeted expenditure of €30,413,190.
