The Ministry of Defence announces that the preliminary examinations, which are conducted by the Ministry, for admission to the Higher Military Educational Institutions and the Higher Military Schools of Non-Commissioned Officers of Greece will be conducted as follows.[/B] Health examination:
1.1 It will be conducted by a Health Committee at the 106 SNE (Military Campaign Hospital), located at Camp B. CAPOTA (BMH) in Aglantzia, from 10 April 2024 - 19 April 2024. Attendance will be from 08:00 to 10:00 (after 10:00 no one will be accepted) according to their initials as shown below.

1.1.3 On 12.4.2024 candidates whose surname begins with the letter H up to the letters KON
1.1.4 On 15.4.2024 candidates whose surname begins with the letters KOU up to the letters MA.
1.1.5 On 16.4.2024, candidates whose surname begins with the letters ME up to the letters PAN, as well as candidates attending military schools.
1.1.6 On 17.4.2024, candidates whose surname begins with the letters PAP up to the letters PROK
1.1.7 On 18.4.2024[/B] candidates whose surname begins with the letter P mup to and including the letter F.
1.1.8 On 19.4.2024 candidates whose surname begins with the letter X up to
1.2 When presenting themselves to the Health Committee, candidates will be required to produce the following health examinations which must have been recently (not more than one and a half months ago), either in a State Hospital or in a private clinic or laboratory (Health Card is not acceptable), together with the Health Examination Form duly completed (ANNEX A):
(1) General analyses of blood, urea, blood sugar, creatinine, transaminases, haemoglobin and general urine with a medical certificate.
(2) FACE chest X-ray with a doctor's note.
(3) Electrocardiogram with a doctor's note stating that the candidate may participate in sports tests.
(4) Ophthalmological examination with recording of visual acuity and the degree of refractive error in each eye, the presence or absence of dyschromatopsia and the existence of a disease or condition with a medical certificate.
(5) Otolaryngological examination and audiogram with a medical certificate.
(6) Gynaecological examination with a medical certificate (that the candidate does not have any problem of a gynaecological nature).
(7) Signed declaration of absence of illegal substances (ANNEX D[/B]).
(8) A completed medical history form (ANNEX E).
Attention:
- The requested medical and/or laboratory tests, as well as the required opinions/statements are not covered under the GHS as they are not health care services.
- If a candidate does not submit the completed Health Examination Form and his/her identity card, he/she will not be admitted to the Health Examination. The examination must be recent (not more than 1,5 months old).
- Please note that no personal letters will be sent.
1.3 The Body Mass Index (BMI) of candidates for admission to the ASE and ASY, i.e. the ratio of the candidate's body weight in kilograms to the square of his/her height in metres, should be between 19 and 27 kgr/m2 for men and between 18 and 25 kgr/m2 for women. For example: A candidate who is 1.75 m tall and weighs 74 kg has a BMI of 74/(1.75 x 1.75)=24.16 (attached Table of height-weight limits) (APPENDIX B)
1.4 Candidates must be in good health, of sound physique and have no tattoos on conspicuous parts of their body not covered by the summer outfit (for women, the summer outfit includes a knee-length skirt).
1.5 Opinions relating to judgement of health fitness of Production School candidates are non-reviewable. Therefore, it is not possible to review candidates whose suitability has been decided by the Committee and a report has been prepared.
2. Athletic Test
2.1 The Athletic Test will be held at the Kykkos B Athletic Lyceum in Nicosia for all candidates who have been found suitable by the Health Committee during the health examination.
2.1.1 On Monday 29.04.2024 at 7:30 a.m., candidates whose surname begins with the letter A up to L shall present themselves.
2.1.2 On Tuesday 30.04.2024 at 7:30 a.m., candidates whose surname begins with the letter M up to Z
2.2 At the Sports Test, candidates must present themselves in in sports clothing and sports shoes.
2.3 The table below shows the events and minimum performance thresholds per event and School that a candidate (irrespective of gender) must achieve in order to be considered eligible:

2.4 Candidates are entitled to one (1) attempt for the roads and three (3) attempts for the jumps and throws. Specifically, for the shot put event, they must in a total of three (3) attempts per hand achieve a total performance (right and left hand) of at least 9 m for the Schools in column 3 of the above table or 8 m and 80 cm for the Schools in column 4 of the above table.
(a) It is recommended that candidates prepare themselves adequately in advance to achieve the performance limits of the events.
(b) The order in which the competitions will be held will be determined under the responsibility of the Chairperson of the Sports Test, depending on climatic and other conditions and the number of candidates.
[C] No persons other than the candidates themselves may enter the competition area.
[D](d) A candidate who unreasonably fails to report at the appointed date and time or fails to achieve the specified minimum performance in any event or withdraws at any stage of the test through no fault of his/her own shall be deemed to have failed the test. If a candidate has applied for both schools for which he/she is required to compete in swimming (SND, SII/IPT, SSN) and another school and fails only in the swimming event, he/she will be deemed to have failed only for the schools for which success in the swimming event is required.
(e) A candidate may take part in a supplementary test if he/she invokes health reasons or suffers an injury before and not during the start of the 1000 and 100 metre running events, and after a medical certificate from the Medical Officer of the Sports Testing Committee stating that he/she can take part in a supplementary test.
(f) It is further provided that a candidate may take part in a supplementary test if, before the start of or during the long jump, high jump and shot put competitions and while he/she still has attempts remaining, he/she invokes health reasons or suffers an injury, after a medical certificate from the Medical Officer of the Athletes' Trials Committee certifying that he/she may take part in a supplementary test to complete the remaining attempts and events.
3. Swimming
3.1 Swimming will be held at the Aglantzia Swimming Pool for the candidates of the Military Naval Cadet Schools (MCD), the School of Flight Engineers (SF) and the School of Permanent Naval Officers (PSN), who have been deemed eligible by the Health Committee.
3.1.1 On Monday 29.04.2024 at 7:30 a.m., candidates whose surname begins with the letter M up to Z shall present themselves.
3.1.2 On Tuesday 30.04.2024 at 7.30 a.m., candidates whose surname begins with the letters A to L must present themselves.
3.1.3 During the swimming test, candidates must bring a swimming cap.
4. Psychotechnical Test (written test of deductive ability and test of critical ability)
4.1 The Psychotechnical Test will be held for all candidates, who have passed the Sports Test, on Thursday 09.05.2024 at 9:00 am at the Lyceum Ethnomartyr Kyprianos Strovolos (tel. 22814700). The examination lasts approximately 2 hours. Time of arrival 8:45 a.m. Information about the psychological test is given in ANNEX 1.
4.2 Candidates should bring blue pens with them.

Candidates applying for admission to the Higher Military Educational Institutions and the Higher Military Non-Commissioned Officer Schools of Greece for the academic year 2024-2025 must come to the examination venues on the days and times specified. They will be required to bring their identity card in order to be admitted. Their absence from the preliminary examination will automatically invalidate their candidature for admission to the above Institutions/Faculties.
6. The results of the preliminary examination will be posted on the website of the Ministry of Defence around the end of May.
