The President of the Cyprus Ports Authority Dr. Antonis St. Stylianou participated on 23 November 2023 in a workshop held in Athens on green energy in ports, in the framework of the European project "SEANERGY - General Fuels and Energy in Ports" and the Sustainable Islands Network.
In his speech, Dr. Stylianou referred to the impact of the green transition process in ports and the actions of the Cyprus Ports Authority as good practices, in the context of carbonisation, digitalisation and digital transformation actions. Welcoming the initiative to undertake the "SEANERGY" project funded by the European Union, he stressed the importance of creating synergies between port operators and actors, as well as other actors at regional level. In addition, he praised the important role played by local communities, especially in ports located in urban areas and the interaction with relevant stakeholders, academic institutions and businesses in order to achieve the objectives of the green transition.
The workshop was attended by participants from Greece, Croatia and Black Sea countries.
