Mr. Averof Neophytou, head of the Cypriot delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), will travel to Geneva tomorrow to participate in the 52nd Session of the Coordinating Committee of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Parliamentary Conference, which will take place on 15 September 2023. Mr Neophytou will be accompanied by the Senior International Relations Officer Ms Augusta Christou.
The Committee will discuss, inter alia, the latest developments in the field of multilateral trade negotiations and preparations for the next WTO Parliamentary Conference, which will take place on the margins of the 13th Ministerial Meeting of the Organization in the United Arab Emirates in February 2024.
Furthermore, in the context of the WTO Public Forum, taking place in Geneva from 12 to 15 September 2023, the members of the Steering Committee will attend a debate, co-organised by the WTO and the European Parliament, entitled "Trade for the benefit of the environment: The Role of Parliaments."
