The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Mr Harris Georgiades, will leave tomorrow for Washington DC to participate in the 3rd Southern Europe and Eastern Mediterranean Meeting, co-organised by the Delphi Economic Forum, Kathimerini newspaper and the Hellenic American Leadership Council, on 14 and 15 March 2022.
Mr Georgiades will participate as a speaker in a discussion on the establishment of a cooperation mechanism between the parliaments of Greece, Cyprus, Israel with the participation of the United States ("3+1"), from the perspective of the national parliaments. Bob Menendez, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Senate, Ms. Dora Bakoyannis, Member of the Hellenic Parliament and Mr. Yossi Shain, Member of the Israeli Parliament, will also participate as speakers in the same debate.
The Forum will discuss, among other issues, issues related to the Mediterranean and Middle East region, including geopolitical developments and energy, the United States' approach to the region, bilateral relations between Greece and the United States as a pillar of stability in the region, as well as the situation in the Western Balkans region.
