MPs Mrs Irini Charalambidou, Mr Kyriakos Hatzigiannis and Mr Christos Seneces, heads and members of the Cypriot delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).They will leave tomorrow for Yerevan to participate in the 21st Autumn Meeting, hosted by the Armenian National Assembly between 18 and 20 November 2023. OSCE's role in addressing internal and external challenges and sub-topics for discussion include the OSCE's response to armed conflicts, corruption as a threat to peace and security, and the protection of minorities. The Autumn Meeting will be addressed by, among others, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Mr. Nikol Pashinyan,
and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Alen Simonyan.
Ms. Charalambidou, as Vice-Chairperson of the OSCE CSO and Special Representative on Combating Corruption, will chair the discussion on the issue of corruption as a fundamental threat to peace and security. Representatives from the World Bank, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the Authority for the Prevention of Corruption in Armenia have been invited and will participate as keynote speakers.
In addition, the Mediterranean Forum, which will bring together delegations from the OSCE's Mediterranean Partners for Cooperation, will be held in the framework of the Autumn Meeting.
