[PIO] Participation of a delegation of the House of Representatives in a meeting of the Executive Council of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Atta

A delegation of the House of Representatives, consisting of the deputies, Mr. George Loukaidis, will depart the day after tomorrow, Sunday, 26 November 2023, for Antalya, Turkey, where it will participate in the meeting of the Executive Council of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA). The delegation will be accompanied by the Parliament's International Relations Officer A, Ms. Loukia Moogi.

During this session, the parliament that will chair the Assembly for the 2024-2025 biennium and the parliaments that will chair the four standing committees of the Assembly for 2024 are expected to be elected. In addition, a proposal to establish a Committee on Women to address equality issues will be discussed, as well as a proposal to continue and strengthen the functioning of the Working Group on the revision of the Convention's Rules of Procedure, among others. It is also expected that the draft resolutions discussed during the sessions of the four Standing Committees of the Assembly will be adopted in order to be forwarded for adoption at the next session of the Plenary expected to be held in early 2024.
