The Press and Information Office (PIO) in collaboration with the Nicosia International Festival 2023, present the photographic exhibition "KTICIC", the opening of which will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 7:00 pm.at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, under the auspices of the Minister of Interior Mr. Constantinos Ioannou.
The central figure of the exhibition "KTICICIC", is the female figure appearing in a mosaic, which can easily create the association that it is a female architect in antiquity, a symbol of resilience and survival of Cypriots both in the trials of history and the dangers of natural disasters.
The exhibition also features the enclosed site of the administrative centre of the town of Kourion, which dominates the top and sides of a natural hill between Limassol and Paphos. This site is protected and not open to the general public. The GMP requested and received permission from the Department of Antiquities for photographer Stefanos Kouratzis and art consultant Katerina Louis Nikita to travel to the site to capture, with Stefanos' camera, the clash of civilizations in Kourion, one of the richest and most powerful city-kingdoms of Cyprus in antiquity.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until 30 January 2024.
