[PIO] Noticeable Earthquake Vibration on Friday 28 January at 05:58

The Geological Survey Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that on Tuesday 28 January 2022 at 05:58 local time an earthquake of magnitude M=4 was recorded by the seismological network of the Department.5 degrees on the Richter scale.

The earthquake had its epicentre in the maritime area of Cyprus, 50 kilometres west-northwest of Polis Chrysochous and a focal depth of 23 kilometres. The earthquake was felt in the Paphos district, slightly felt in the Limassol and Nicosia districts and felt in eastern Cyprus. It is assessed as an aftershock of the strong earthquake of magnitude Mw=6.5 of 11 January 2022.
