The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry announces the 2nd Call for Proposals of the New Business Support Scheme, with a total budget of €20 million.
The Scheme is included in the "THALIA" Programme 2021-2027 and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund+ (ESF+) of the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus.
It aims to develop, support and promote entrepreneurship, focusing on specific population groups, such as young people and women, who wish to engage in entrepreneurship in any economic activity, making use of their knowledge, experience, training and talents.
The excluded activities are listed in Annex I of the Plan Guide.
The intensity of the grant is 70% for young people aged 18-29 years, while for men aged 30-50 years and women aged 30-55 years the intensity will be 60%. The grant is calculated on the cost of the eligible investment costs (Equipment, Special Facilities, Buildings - erection, purchase, renovation - remodelling of premises -, Promotion and Other Expenditure), with a maximum eligible budget per enterprise of €120,000.
Interested parties can obtain the Project Guide, which sets out all the details, the List of Supporting Documents, as well as other required forms or documents from the website of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, specifically from the website of the Department of Industry and Technology.
It is noted that applications/proposals from the Beneficiaries will be submitted only through the electronic Grant Scheme System of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, within a specific time period to be specified in the relevant Call for Proposals, which will be announced in the near future.

In the immediate future, the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry will organise a series of presentations in all cities, starting with those to be held in cooperation with the Cyprus Youth Organisation, at its offices in Nicosia, on 16 April 2024, at the Agros Youth Centre, on 24 July 2024, and at the Famagusta Youth Centre, on 25 April 2024.
