The Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Defence Committee, Mr George Karoullas, will leave tomorrow, Sunday, 5 May 2024, for Rome, to participate in a Mediterranean Dialogue Seminar, co-organised on 6 and 7 May 2024, by the Special Group of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.NATO Parliamentary Assembly on the Mediterranean and the Middle East and the Italian Parliament's delegation to the Assembly.
The participants will address, inter alia, the geopolitical implications of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa region, the role of Russia in this region, the Israel-Hamas conflict, the role of Iran in regional conflicts, as well as the climate crisis and migration.
The seminar will be addressed by Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, and Guido Crosetto, Minister of Defence of Italy.
