MP George Loukaides, member of the Cypriot delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will travel to Vilnius tomorrow to participate in a meeting of the Assembly's Standing Committee, which will take place on 24 May 2024.

The session will discuss the recent challenges of democracy in Georgia, the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe and the equal participation of all European citizens in the future of the organisation, the protection of cultural heritage in the midst of a climate crisis, the elimination of child labour and access of children with special educational needs to quality education services.

The meeting of the Standing Committee will be addressed by Ms Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, President of the Lithuanian Parliament, Mr Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs representing the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe during the current semester, and the President of the Convention, Mr Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen.
