Mr.Loucaides, a member of the Cypriot delegation to the CSCE, will travel to Oslo tomorrow to participate in a meeting of the Political Affairs and Democracy Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which will take place on 30 and 31 May 2024 at the Parliament of Norway. Mr. Loucaides will be accompanied by the Senior International Relations Officer, Ms. Gabriella Maragou.
Among the issues to be discussed are the report and the draft resolution of the Italian Rapporteur, Mr. Piero Fassino on "Call for the return of Famagusta to its legal inhabitants", which, after approval by the Committee, will be put to a vote in the Plenary of the CSCE next June.
In addition, Mr. Loukaides, in his capacity as Rapporteur for an Opinion, on behalf of the Commission, on the issue of reconciliation and compensation procedures as effective ways of dealing with conflicts and building a common and peaceful future, will present his draft Opinion as well as a number of amendments to the report of the British Rapporteur Lord Keen.
In the context of the above-mentioned proceedings, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Andreas Mozfeldt Kraavik, will address the meeting and exchange views with the members of the Commission.
