[PIO] Monthly Economic Indicators: January - October 2023

The Statistical Office announces the release of the bi-monthly bulletin "Monthly Economic Indicators", for the period January - October 2023. The bulletin presents the main short-term economic indicators for the Cyprus economy for the last months up to October 2023, as well as comparative data for the last four years, which were available until 14 December 2023.


Note: Trend depicts the long-term evolution of a series observed over a long period of time. It is the result of influences such as population growth, technological development and general economic growth.

The Manufacturing sector in January - September 2023 saw a 3.0% increase compared to January - September 2022.

The total area of Approved Building Permits reached 1.673.0 thousand square meters in the period January - September 2023, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same period last year.

Total Motor Vehicle Registrations recorded an increase of 32.5%, reaching 38,503 in the period January - October 2023. Private saloon cars increased to 25,551, up 33.1%, and light trucks increased to 2,872, up 12.2% compared to January - October 2022.

The Consumer Price Index increased 3.9% in the January - October 2023 period, compared to the same period last year.

Total Imports of Goods amounted to €10,829.5 million for the period January - October 2023, an increase of 12.9% and total Exports of Goods amounted to €3,540.9 million,

Tourist Arrivals[/B] amounted to 3,562,417 in the period January - October 2023, compared to 2,941,182 in the corresponding period of 2022, an increase of 21.1%.
