Deputy Minister of State for European Affairs Marilena Raouna visited Brussels yesterday, where today, 19 March 2024, she will participate in the work of the General Affairs Council of the European Union (EU).
The agenda of the General Affairs Council includes, inter alia, the examination of the report on the Council's recommendations on the European Semester 2024 and a debate on the Future of Europe.
The Council will also prepare the European Council meeting on 21-22 March 2024, which is expected to address security and defence issues, the ongoing Russian aggression in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and enlargement issues.
In the margins of the General Affairs Council, the Minister of State for European Affairs will have meetings with the French Minister for European Affairs and the Swedish Minister for European Affairs.
In the margins of the meeting, Ms Raouna will have a private meeting with the Secretary General of the European Parliament, Mr Alessandro Chiocchetti.
