The Minister of Health, Mr Michael Damianos, had a meeting today with the General Secretary of AKEL and the party's MPs participating in the Health Committee of the Parliament. Damianos noted that views were exchanged on various issues of concern to the health sector, with emphasis on the YESY, the OCYPY and the pending bills that should be submitted to the Parliament for voting.
He expressed confidence that through good cooperation, solutions will be found to the problems existing in the health sector. He finally thanked the General Secretary of AKEL for the meeting, stressing that there will be constant contact and consultation with all parties in order to promote immediate solutions.
For his part, the General Secretary of AKEL, Mr. Stefanos Stefanou, described the meeting as particularly interesting and comprehensive, noting that AKEL will continue to support efforts to fortify the character, architecture and philosophy of the GESY.
