On Sunday, October 1, 2023, as part of the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the declaration of independence of the Republic of Cyprus, the traditional military parade will take place.
The parade will take place on Joseph X''Joseph Avenue and will begin at 11 a.m.The parade will be attended by motorized and marching units, as well as flying units of the National Guard, the Cyprus Police and the Fire Service.
Before the start, an official reception will be held for the President of the Republic, Mr. Nicos Christodoulides. The flag will be raised, the National Anthem will be played and twenty-one saluting cannons will be fired.
The President of the Republic, accompanied by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Michalis Giorgallas and the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas.
The parade will be attended by the President of the Republic, Mrs Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, as an official guest of the President of the Republic.
The Greek Government will be represented by the Minister of National Defence, Mr Nikos Dendias, who will be accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of National Defence, General Konstantinos Floros.
The military parade, which will take place in the presence of the public, will also be attended by Ambassadors and Defence Attaches of foreign countries.
