In a few days Orthodox Christianity enters Holy Week and prepares to participate with deep reverence in the Passion of the Lord. The events full of symbolism and messages associated with this period, culminating in the comforting and joyful message of the Resurrection, revive and fill the souls of the faithful with strength, will and optimism.
At a time when humanity is plagued by various problems and challenges, the pain, perseverance and patience of the sacrifice of the cross strengthen every person who is being tested. The mystery of the Resurrection of the God-Man rekindles the hope for the prevalence of peace and love that all of humanity truly needs today. At the same time, it becomes a source of courage, faith and inner strength, inspiring every human being to continue his or her own daily struggle, against all the obstacles encountered on the way.
In the same way, the concept of selflessness, solidarity, forgiveness, self-denial and sincere love for one's neighbour, which led to the voluntary martyrdom of the Lord, convey to us the supreme meaning of the Crucifixion and Resurrection. The universal human values, which emerge through the Divine Passion, have a positive effect on human life and prevent the general crisis of morals and culture that plagues our times.
Dear children, dear young people,
This passage from death to life, from darkness to light, from injustice to justice, points to the duty we have to strive for the prevalence of the values of peace, democracy, mutual respect and the promotion of human rights. It points to the responsibility and duty we have, guided by our education, to build a promising future for you, the new generation of our country.
