September each year marks the beginning of the school and academic year, with the gates of our country's schools and higher education institutions opening again to welcome all of you, the student, pupil and educational community.

At the heart of the plans of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth is the proper and effective operation of our educational institutions and the further improvement of the quality of education provided, in order to ensure the creative learning and intellectual development of our pupils and students. In this context, we have made it a priority to strengthen our policies with new ideas and actions and upgrade our logistical/building infrastructure, aiming at improving and modernizing our educational system and shaping the optimal learning environment. Our aim is to provide a high quality inclusive education that meets the pedagogical needs of all our children and young people, enhances their personality and gives them equal opportunities to develop their aptitudes, skills and special interests.

Our vision is that our pupils, pupils, students and students will develop into free, active and democratically-minded citizens, characterised by ethics, responsibility and respect for their fellow human beings and the environment and will contribute creatively to the development of our society, to meeting the challenges facing our semi-inhabited country and to the successful completion of the effort for its reunification.

Valuable allies and partners in the achievement of our goals are all the teachers of our country, who, with a special love for our children and young people, serve their profession with dedication and conscientiousness. The State entrusts the education of our children to our teachers, recognizing their contribution and contribution to the development and improvement of education in our country, through the high quality of their work.

As the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, we also recognize the special demands of the profession and the complex role of our teachers, since they are called upon every day not only to impart knowledge and contribute to the development of the skills of our students, but also to become, through their example, a source of inspiration and to cultivate attitudes and life values.

Our aim is to ensure the professional development of our teachers, enabling them, in the best possible conditions, to apply modern teaching methods which, by allowing their personal autonomy, will lead to the achievement of the desired learning outcomes and the progress of our children.

My dear children, my dear young people, my dear teachers,

The creation of an educational system that will fully cultivate tomorrow's citizens is our common vision. I want you to be sure that throughout the year we will remain open to dialogue, discussing with you and with all stakeholders, your concerns and suggestions, in order to shape together an education system that meets our expectations.

Along with my wishes for a productive year, in which we will walk together, I urge you all to start and continue the school/academic year with courage and optimism, treating every success and failure as an opportunity to learn lessons and become better. I urge you to make the best use of the school year to give and gain new knowledge, to conquer and surpass your personal horizons and goals, to develop your personality and spirit.

I wish you all a good start and every success in achieving the goals you have set.
