MP George Loucaides, member of the Cypriot delegation to the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), is travelling today to Baku (Azerbaijan) to participate in the 14th Plenary Session of the APA, which will take place on 22 and 23 February 2024. Mr. Loucaides will also participate, prior to the Session, in the Assembly's Executive Council meeting on 21 February 2024. Mr. Loucaides will be accompanied by Ms. Loukia Moogi, First Officer for International Relations of the Parliament.
The central theme of the Summit is the promotion and strengthening of regional cooperation to promote sustainable development across Asia. In the framework of the Summit, the four Standing Committees of the Assembly, namely the Political Affairs Committee, the Economic and Sustainable Development Committee, the Social and Cultural Affairs Committee and the Budget and Economic Planning Committee, will meet to discuss draft resolutions on various political, economic and socio-cultural issues, which will be submitted for adoption by the Assembly Plenary.
