[PIO] Meetings of the First Lady on the sidelines of the participation of the President of the Republic in the United Nations General Assembly in New

First Lady Philippa Carcera Christodoulides, who is accompanying the President of the Republic to New York, visited yesterday the Church of St Nicholas, which is located in the area where the terrorist attacks of September 11 took place, and then went to the Memorial dedicated to the victims of these terrorist attacks.

At the Memorial, the First Lady laid flowers in memory of the victims, including two people of Cypriot origin, and then toured the Museum dedicated to the victims of September 11.

Tomorrow, 20 September, the First Lady will attend President Christodoulides' address to the plenary session of the United Nations General Assembly and will attend a banquet hosted by the First Lady of the United States in honour of the spouses of Heads of State attending the United Nations General Assembly.

On 22 September, Mrs. Karsera Christodoulides will visit the St. Demetrios School of the Greek Orthodox community in Astoria, followed by a meeting with the Cyprus Children's Fund Board.

During her stay in New York, Mrs. Karsera Christodoulides will accompany her husband to the reception hosted by the President of the United States and his wife, and will also attend the President's meeting with the Archbishop of the United States of America, Mr.Mr. Elpidophoros and at the dinner to be hosted in honor of the President and the President and at the President's meeting with the President and Mr. Elpidophoros, and at the dinner to be hosted in honor of the President and the Presidential couple by expatriate organizations.
