[PIO] Meeting of the Minister of Justice and Public Order with the President and members of the Committee for Gender Equality in Employment and

Minister of Justice and Public Order Anna Koukkidi-Prokopiou met on Friday with the Chairperson of the Committee for Gender Equality in Employment and Vocational Education (EIF), Mrs Louisa Christodoulides-Zannetou, as well as the members of the Committee.

During the meeting, Ms. Zannetou referred to the role and work carried out by the Commission for Gender Equality in Employment and discussed issues of mutual interest with the Ministry.

During the meeting it was agreed to develop synergies in order to promote and further utilize the Guide for the Prevention and Treatment of Harassment and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace.

In particular, ways of disseminating and utilizing the Guide in all departments of the Ministry of Justice, including the Police, the Fire Department, the Prison Department and the State Archives were discussed. The aim is to further raise awareness and to address gender-based violence and sexual harassment at work as promptly, appropriately and effectively as possible.

The Minister of Justice and the President of the Committee for Gender Equality in Employment and Vocational Training expressed their intention to strengthen cooperation between them and agreed that they would be in constant communication with a view to combating gender discrimination and promoting equality and human rights.
