[PIO] Meeting of the Minister of Interior with the Director General for Structural Reforms of the European Commission

Minister of Interior Mr. Constantinos Ioannou met today with the Director General for Structural Reforms of the European Commission (DG REFORM) Mr. Mario Nava.

During the meeting, the progress in the implementation of the programmes for which the Ministry of Interior received technical support was reviewed, including the effective combating of money laundering and the financing of terrorist organisations and the enhancement of mass property valuation.

The discussion also focused on the Ministry of Interior's new proposals for the provision of technical support by DG REFORM. The main proposal for cooperation is the reorganisation, development and strengthening of civil protection, with emphasis on the interoperability of the emergency system (112) and the Early Warning System to ensure immediate response to crises and disasters.
