Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou today met with the reform team of the four municipalities of the capital, Nicosia, Aglantzia, Agios Dometios and Egkomi, in the context of the forthcoming reform of local government and their merger on 1 July 2024.
The Minister of Interior was received by the Mayor of Nicosia, Mr. Constantinos Yiorkatzis, the Municipal Secretary Mrs. At the meeting, the Minister was informed about the development and progress of the procedures for the forthcoming merger of the four municipalities in terms of infrastructure, personnel, financial issues, as well as about the needs for the implementation of the reform, which arise and concern the successful outcome of the merger of the four municipalities of the capital.
