The Commissioner for Rural Payments Mr. Andreas Kyprianou held a meeting with the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Mr. George Papanastasiou, in the presence of the Assistant Commissioner and other officials of the Agency and the Ministry.
The meeting discussed, inter alia, the underwriting agreement between the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Agency (CAP) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Environment for the programmes subsidised by the Agency. In particular, the underwriting agreement in force provides for various control and mutual information mechanisms from and to the FIFG. These mechanisms are always in line with the Community directives and regulations and with the Code of effective communication with contractors. Cooperation between the two is a given and effective, since joint action and cooperation between the two bodies brings about the best possible results for our rural world and the rural economy of the country.
