The Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Mr Prodromos Prodromou had a meeting today with the General Secretary of PEO Ms Sotiroula Charalambous and the General Secretary of SIDHEKEK-PEO Mr Nikos Grigoriou, who represented the Artists' Guild of the Guild. The meeting was also attended, on the part of the Ministry, by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Mr. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Kyprianos Louis, Director of Cultural Services.
In the context of the meeting, information was given on the progress of the examination of the bill for the creation of a Deputy Ministry of Culture, as well as on the progress of the work on the legislative proposal for the establishment of the professional status of artists and workers in the field of culture. At the same time, reference was made to the Minister's intention to prepare a legislative proposal to encourage sponsorship for cultural creation.
A constructive discussion followed and views were presented by the trade union organisation.
