The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Mrs.Marilena Evangellou, discussed the progress of the consultation in relation to the formulation of a new Legislation for Persons with Disabilities, which will include everything concerning Persons with Disabilities through a combination of benefits and services. Andreas Apostolou, at a meeting held at the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare.
During the meeting it was agreed that, in the context of the new legislation, the Deputy Ministry also adopts Mr Apostolou's suggestion that the income of a spouse should not be taken into account in the provision of disability benefits to disabled persons.
The issue will also be discussed in the context of the consultation with the disability movement.
