[PIO] Meeting of the Committee for Gender Equality in Employment and Vocational Training with the Minister of Justice and Public Order

The President, members and staff of the Committee for Gender Equality in Employment and Vocational Education met on September 1, 2023, with the Minister of Justice and Public Order Ms Anna Koukkidi Prokopiou and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between them.

The Minister stressed that equality issues are an important responsibility and priority of her Ministry, and are handled through the Equality Unit of the Ministry. The Chairperson of the Commission informed the Minister about the responsibilities and actions of the Commission, how to handle complaints of gender discrimination, the Code of Sexual Harassment and the relevant Guide issued by the Commission, as well as the planned new actions of the Commission with the Police, including training on equality issues. Finally, the Chairperson of the NIF assured the Minister that the Commission is at the disposal of the Ministry for all matters within its remit.
