The Commissioner for Rural Payments, Mr. Andreas Kyprianou, at the offices of the Agency, with all agricultural organisations, where they were informed with presentations on the new grant programmes for the year 2022, on the NEW CAP 2021-2027 and on the monitoring system for agricultural land which will be implemented by the CAP during the current year.
In addition, the Commissioner informed the farmer organizations that the regional community meetings will be announced soon, which will be attended by him and officials of the Organization, for information and resolution of various problems/issues faced by farmers. He also mentioned that for the first time, CFC Officers will go out of their offices and work regular hours in different communities at the community offices in different districts to assist and inform the applicant, resolve problems and queries arising from the grant measures. These two actions on behalf of the Agency will be announced at a later stage.
The Commissioner, expressed the desire to continue the close and good cooperation that already exists with all farmers' organizations for the good of our farmer and the rural economy, and indicated that both he and the Officers of the CRA will always be at his side for resolution and to provide any assistance needed, always within the capabilities of the Agency.
The meeting also discussed issues related to the agricultural and rural economy, the problems that plague farmers and the ways of facilitating the Cypriot farmer, with a view to the full absorption of all European Union funds related to agriculture.
The Agricultural Organisations expressed their full support and warmly thanked the Commissioner for the initiative of the meeting and for the information they received through presentations and printed material provided to them.
