The increased interest shown by our fellow citizens for the subsidy plans for the purchase of an electric vehicle announced by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works is practical proof of the feasible acceleration of the green transition of our country, especially in electromobility. Specifically, as of this morning, since the application process opened on Saturday, a total of 2254 applications have been submitted.
- 1187 applications concern the purchase of a new zero-carbon dioxide (CO2) vehicle
- 333 applications for scrapping and replacement with a new low CO2 emission vehicle
- 60 applications for the purchase of a new zero-CO2 vehicle for a large family. It is worth mentioning that all 60 available applications were exhausted before the 48-hour deadline
- 34 applications for the purchase of a new zero-emission CO2 vehicle for a disabled beneficiary
- 104 applications for the purchase of a second-hand zero-emission CO2 private vehicle, also exhausting the available applications
There is also great interest in the professional categories, as all 4 grants for the purchase of a new electric vehicle of category N2 (commercial gross weight exceeding 3.500 kg but not exceeding 12,000 kg) and 2 for the purchase of a new category M2 electric vehicle (minibus with more than eight seats).
The application process is online for all sponsorship categories on the website of the Road Transport Department from 17/02/2024 to 11/10/2024 or until the sponsorships in each category are exhausted, whichever occurs first.
