The Road Transport Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from Tuesday, 14 May 2024, the periodic technical inspection for motorcycles (two-wheeled, three-wheeled and four-wheeled) will be implemented.

To this end, to date, 16 Private Vehicle Technical Inspection Centres (VTCs) have been licensed, which are listed in the list posted on the website of the Department of Road Transport.

From 14 May 2024, registration or re-registration of a used motorcycle will only be possible after a successful technical inspection and presentation of the certificate of fitness.

In order to ensure road safety, all registered motorcycles will be called for a technical inspection. Owners of registered motorcycles will be informed of the time within which their vehicle will undergo a technical inspection by sending a message (sms) and, therefore, are invited to update their contact details by registering with the online services of the Road Transport Department.
