Misdemeanor reports are being forwarded to the Prosecutor General's Office for 20 cases of owners of livestock/agricultural outbuildings (stews) in the Akamas area, who made illegal interventions and modifications to their outbuildings, in violation of their license. A letter was sent to the owners with a condition within two months to remove the illegalities and restore legality, without any compliance on their part. As a result, the Paphos District Administration and the Planning and Zoning Department are preparing misdemeanour reports and within the next two weeks, they will be submitted to the General Prosecutor's Office for further handling and legal action.

It is recalled that the arbitrariness in the areas in question had been detected since last September, following inspections carried out on the instructions of the Minister of Interior, Mr. Constantinos Ioannou, by a team consisting of officers from the Paphos District Administration, the Planning and Zoning Department (Paphos Offices) and the Game and Wildlife Service. The inspections were carried out by physical inspection of the team and with the use of technological means.

The inspections revealed illegal interventions in 25 buildings, which are located in plots on the outskirts of the Akamas National Forest Park in areas adjacent to Natura Network sites. For five of these cases judicial measures had already been taken.
