A campaign of inspections on occupational safety and health issues in establishments where hazardous chemicals are used and/or stored will be conducted by the Labour Inspection Department (TEE) of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance in March 2022.
Specifically, inspections will be carried out:
- at premises where production or storage activities of various chemicals such as pesticides, fertilizers, lacquers, varnishes, gums, paints, insulation materials, plastic materials, sponges, cosmetics, soaps, medicines, etc. are carried out,
- importers/traders of significant quantities of chemicals,
- premises where relatively significant quantities of chemicals may be used/stored,
- large chemical laboratories,
- premises covered by large-scale accident legislation (SEVESO),
- premises where explosives (gunpowder) and/or pyrotechnics are used and/or stored,
- premises where significant quantities of biogas are produced and used.
The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness among all parties involved to take protective and preventive measures that will contribute to the reduction of accidents, occupational diseases and hazardous incidents related to hazardous chemicals.
The campaign will check the compliance of employers with the provisions of the legislation on the implementation of a risk management system, definition and implementation of measures to eliminate or reduce the risks arising from the storage, use and production of hazardous chemicals.
